Undergraduate Course Descriptions:
Diction For Singers: An introduction to basic phonetics and pronunciation using the symbols of the International Phonetic Alphabet(IPA). A study of the formation and phonation of vowel and consonant sounds in the English, Italian, French, and German languages as they serve the foundation for expressive speech and singing.
French For Singers: A Directed Study of the French Language. Students are guided to follow a routine of writing, listening, and reading which adresses the various elements of language study pertinent to a professional voice career
Voice Pedagogy: A study of the principles of voice production. The course addresses respiration, phonation, resonance, and articulation, and other related topics.
